Background of Ranchi girl Richa Bharti case

If you are new to this case then read this; Ranchi girl Richa Bharti was arrested a few days back on her Facebook post. The police thought this post was likely to incite hatred among Hindus and Muslims and so it arrested her.

When she was produced before the Ranchi court, the judge gave her bail but only on one condition. Richa had to donate 5 copies of the Quran to a few Muslim organizations. Bharti also had to give one copy of the Muslim holy book to the complainant.

Ridiculous!

Now isn't this ridiculous? When did sharing a Facebook post become a crime? And why should a Hindu distribute the Quran in order to be released?

If I don't believe in Islam, why should I be compelled to recite the Quran verses? By forcing me to do this, the court is impinging on my fundamental Right to Expression and Freedom of Thought.

Richa Bharti disagrees with this bail order and says SHE WON'T DISTRIBUTE QURAN. Watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIJLc7L9uLw

While reading a few newspapers, I learned that a group of Muslims was punished by the Jharkhand High Court for inciting a communal riot in which a young girl was wounded. The police said that this riot happened because  a Hindu man had posted some 'objectionable' Facebook comment.

Now digest this; these Muslims were and should be punished for starting a riot. In this case, the Hindu boy was not prosecuted. But why then should Richa Bharti be arrested for a Facebook post that hasn't started a riot?

Why?

To balance the narrative?

The Richa Bharti episode happened only a few days back. I wouldn't have known about this but for Twitter.

An anti-Hindu government?

As a Hindu, I am deeply troubled by this case.

Did I vote the BJP government in Jharkhand and Centre to see Hindus arrested on minor charges? What fault have I done to deserve this form of treatment?

Hindus have been at the receiving end of other communities for more than 5 years now even under the so-called Hindu-friendly government.

Don't you remember the recent Chandni Chowk Durga temple episode where a group of Muslims tore down a Hindu temple? I was horrified to read that this demolition happened right under the nose of Amit Shah, the Home Minister of the Bhartiya Janata Party. Chandni Chowk is just a few kilometers away from the Delhi Poice Headquarters and Union Parliament.

You would be horrified to know that within a matter of few minutes, a 5000 strong mob gathered in the Lal Kuan area and later destroyed a small Hindu temple. The police, under the Hindu Hridaya Samrat Amit Shah, did nothing to stop this chaos and destruction of a Hindu temple.

Over the past few years, several such incidents have taken place which underlines the animosity of the Modi government toward ordinary Hindus.

I haven't forgotten the case of the 500 unfortunate Hindus that were forced to leave India by the Vijayaraje Sindhia government. Those unfortunate Hindu Pakistanis had to return to Pakistan where they converted to Islam.

I am not saying that the Modi government has to become anti-Muslim in order to be seen as pro-Hindu. That would be a really stupid thing to do.

All I am saying is that the government should be truly neutral in Hindu-Muslim matters. But Mr. Modi refuses to be seen as a neutral PM.

His government has announced several subsidies for Muslims for furthering their education. In early July this year, he denounced the 'lynching' of Tabrez Ansari in Jharkhand but uttered no word with regard to the Tuppal incident of Uttar Pradesh.  A few years earlier, Narendra Modi was shown doing sajda to the dead Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last king of the Mughals. Remember, the ancestors of Zafar were immensely responsible for the deaths and destruction of countless Hindus.

Pindrop Silence!

As expected, the new Lutyen's media have maintained a pin drop silence over the Richa Bharti case. They haven't pointed any fingers toward the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party government in Jharkhand. It is understandable because of funding issues. Who knows, these new media outlets might have to shut shop if they even uttered even one word in protest.
